Resumen
The hair treatments have the purpose to protect and to treat the threads of extern aggressions and
chemical processes. Nevertheless, due to the growing technological advancement, it is necessary to
know on the choice of the ideal treatment for the type of existent damage. This work aims to
analyze the products available in the market of hair nutrition applied in countless chemical
processes, which are justified by the difficulty of finding scientific information on the protocols of
treatment. Samples of pure hairs were analyzed and with processes of smoothing, dye, and
discoloration before and after changes provoked by different treatments of hair nutrition. Besides
checking the efficiency of the treatments after structural damages caused by these chemical
processes separately. For the hair characterization there were used techniques of X-rays diffraction
(XDR), spectroscopy of absorption in the infrared (FTIR), spectroscopy Raman. For morphological
analysis, it used scanning electron microscopy (SEM) and atomic force microscopy (AFM). In the
thermal analysis there were used the techniques of thermogravimetric (TG) and the differential
exploratory calorimetry (DSC). Through these techniques it was noticed the predominant difference
between the pure hair and with chemical treatment. After the treatments, it was noticed through the
FTIR that several important connections were modified, like the connections S-S, SO3, C-H, C=O
as well as the secondary structures of proteins that suffered alterations in his resignations. The
results demonstrate that the chemical processes modified the structure conformational of the keratin
and that you gave the sum the hair structure is damaging to the fiber, chemically and physically
modifying the capillary structure. In spite of such products were destined changing positively the
structure and the appearance of the hair, they finish consequently, producing certain undesirable
damages. In the thermal analysis mass loss was noted in all the chemical processes and treatments,
and the samples have also presented glass transition (Tg). It is inferred that the results, in general,
confirmed that the treatment in which one stood out in the fulfilled analyses was the product to the
base of coconut oil and glycerol, of the professional treatment, more specifically in the process of
the bigger degradation of the fiber that was the hair which passed by discoloration followed dye.
That demonstrated that this treatment caused a standard of different morphological deformation in
the hair surface in levels superior to an expected one coming restoring cuticular cells.
