Facebook como espaço para ativismo de solidariedade pelo Grupo de Apoio à Criança com Câncer

Abstract

This paper deals with the use of media Facebook by the communication sector Support Group for Children with North Rio Grande Cancer, showing his work philosophy which seeks to encourage the accession of new volunteers and donors to the organization, through postings with humanitarian characteristics and events exhibition where donations occur, besides the presence of volunteers and children attending cultural and social events. Through qualitative research, analysis and observations, using interviews with all the authors involved, one comes to the conclusion that the way the organization's communications industry works, we obtain this satisfactory result of the involvement of more volunteers and more allocation of resources. Such an approach finds support in cyber activism, seeking support for their causes through the Internet and other media means, trying it out format a network of solidarity. It also revealed the panel in general cancer on the planet, Brazil and Rio Grande do Norte, detailing the work of the GACC and its communications sector. The qualitative study cut out the months of August, September and October 2014, where all the threads of Facebook were analyzed and some visitors of respondents page, as well as members of the organization and people from areas related to the subject, as journalists and psychologists, with set of observations and testimonials from leading researchers to the conclusion that threads can sensitize people towards a more effective participation in the entity or contributing financially, whether donating something periodically or possibly being non-invasive way of communication - not exposing children with physical and psychological weaknesses, but always using the bright side, participatory and happy of everything related to the world of children seen, one of the essential factors for the involvement of people with the GACC. The research was punctuated by communications theorists like Dinah Menezes, which addresses the issue of limitation of action of NGOs and points toward the need for a strategic communication work so that they can become more solid and active.
