Resumen
This research had as objective to foment the dialogue between the educational perspective of the sport as content of the Physical Education and the reality of how the introduction of the same in the school is being. Stretching the objectives sought to observe which conceptions of teaching that guide the teaching practice and to emphasize the pedagogical contributions of the sport for the development of the student. The methodology was qualitative descriptive, making use of a questionnaire with mixed questions, applied to ten professors with a degree in UFRN who work in Elementary School in a public school system in the State of Rio Grande do Norte. The theoretical organization was divided into three chapters - the first making the historical rescue of Sport in society and its relation to Physical Education; The second dealt with the characteristics and objectives of Physical Education in Primary Education; The third brought the discussion with the reality found through the interview data. In the conclusion, we sought to elucidate the general and specific objectives of the research, as well as to highlight the reality of the sport as content in the school and the path that still has to be followed, since, given the analysis of the questionnaires, we have as a result that most teachers Who participated in the research present a critical eye and on the way to a signification for the sport within the school.
