Análise da ciclovia da Universidade Federal do Rio Grande do Norte, sob a ótica da segurança

Abstract

One of the highest factors that discourage cycling is the lack of security. However, nowadays, this modal has have highlighted in the composition of the urban transport system of the cities. Facing this fact, the Federal University of Rio Grande do Norte, meeting the needs of their students and servers, built on campus a bike lane with about 8 km. In this context, this article aims to make a critical security analysis of infrastructure of urban equipment delivered, and offer proposals for improvements to the identified weak points. In order to analyze the trusted site conditions, all the way was covered with a bicycle, at different times, in which it was possible to identify several problems in lighting, flooring, segregating, security posts, vertical and horizontal signaling. From the analysis, it was concluded that although the observed failures, not costly measures can be taken to optimize the bike path already delivered and encourage new cyclists to use.
