dc.description.abstract | . Helicopter vibration is an extremely undesirable phenomenon. Either by causing premature wear in the mechanical components or by causing immense harm to the health of the crew. The vibration induced by the difference in lift of the helicopter blades directly influences the vibration in the main rotor and consequently the vibration in the aircraft cabin. The purpose of this work was to analyze how the vibration induced by the main rotor blades can attenuate or impair the vibration of the helicopter. For this analysis, an accelerometer, a magnetic pick up, a strobe gun and an ACES P2020 equipment capable of performing dynamic balancing in rotors, shafts and propellers were used in the H-50 (squirrel) aircraft. The analysis proves, through measurements taken before and after adjustments made to the links and tabs of the main rotor blades, that the vertical vibration changes considerably as the three blades fly in different planes of the main rotor. The data obtained from the analysis made sure that the vibration induced by the blades cannot be neglected, and that in order to have a safe flight and with acceptable levels of vibration, the blades must be adjusted so that they always fly in the same plane of rotatio | |
