Resumen
The concept of health has changed along the times, evolving from a model of
medical or biological health assistance to the present model of basic attention to
health. In Brazil, this new model gains strength with the adoption of the Single Heath
System (SUS), confirmed by the 1988 Constitution concerning the topics integrity,
equality and universality. The 2006 National Health Policy (PNPS) includes the
Corporal Practices and Physical Activities (PCAT) as an area of health promotion. In
2008, this policy helped to insert the professional of physical education in the area of
collective health with the aid of teams of Family Health Group (NASF), which started
working inside the Units of Family Health (USF). By the way, the work developed by
those professionals remains somewhat unclear and under-evaluated. This paper has
the objective of describing as the professionals of physical education perform within
the NASF teams in the health units in the City of Natal-RN and to organize their
methodological actions, as well as to identify the social impact of those actions on
their colleagues and on the community. On the other hand, it is a way of knowing
better that field of the physical education, still little studied in graduate courses, as
well as to emphasize the lack of guidelines underneath that professional knowledge.
We used as methodological procedure the descriptive research of qualitative
approach and a logbook to field register, in addition to photographs and semistructured
interviews, and the data analysis required Bardin’s contents evaluation.
Collective health is a health area that offers many kinds of apprenticeship and
applicability of knowledge directed to promoting health, prevention and disease
recover. The task of the teachers in the NASF teams surpasses the practice of the
physical exercise, because it requires a multi-professional and interdisciplinary
interaction with the professionals of the other health areas. Results point out that the
education professionals have a large action field inside NASF, for they go beyond the
corporal practices and physical activity, playing a protagonist role in the promotion of
heath and prevention of population disease.
