Abstract

His paper aims to analyze the phenomenon of obstetric violence under the bias of precariousness and commodification of health, from social and economic data on societal development and the unfolding of the social issue, revealing reflections about the extent to which this violence is a structural problem. of society. The work was done through qualitative research and data analysis that underlie the particularities and objectivity that often go unnoticed, or are ignored, in this society marked by social, political, economic and cultural inequality. To this end, the research was based on the critical-dialectical method through the central categories: contradiction, historicity, mediation and totality, as well as reviewing the historical aspects of the social issue and how this process unfolds directly in the health system. especially in women's lives and in their freedom to make their own decisions. Thus, as a result, obstetric violence is problematized as a development of a capitalist system that directly interferes with the subjectivity and objectivity of individuals, their choices and access to social rights, often transforming the expressions of the social issue into an object of profitability. . The research revealed a series of characteristics of the commodification process, mainly as an extension of the social issue, so that obstetric violence becomes one of its many consequences.
