dc.description.abstractThe reinforced concrete structural member cross-section is under flexo-compression when it is subject to bending moment and normal compressive force action, simultaneously. Due to the types of loading and its constraints to the rest of the structure, usually, the columns fit in this kind of structural members. Despite the availability of advanced software applicable to the column designs, in some circumstances it is necessary to carry out the design of cross sections subjected to the flexo-compression from manual procedure, using charts. The aim of this work is the development of algorithms from the Scilab automatic language intended for obtaining numerical mapping to support the construction of suitable charts to design reinforced concrete cross sections under flexo-compression.
