dc.description.abstractThe present study discusses the importance of establishing effective alarm management systems in industrial units. The objective is to analyze the context of industries that wish to optimize their processes by studying their alarms. For this, real cases will be analyzed through literature and a case study using data collected from a mining industry and considering the standards established by international standards ISA 18.2 and EEMUA 191. The results of the test show that an industrial plant with poorly managed alarm system faces the reality of having an ineffective production control room that puts the enterprise's production, safety and economy at risk. It is then confirmed that large industries have a complex structure of production alarms that need to be strictly managed.
