O controle social do Programa Nacional de Alimentação Escolar (PNAE) – antes e durante a pandemia do COVID-19

Abstract

This study aimed to analyze the performance of the School Food Council (CAE) before and during the COVID-19 pandemic in the state of Rio Grande do Norte. For the collection of information, the reports provided by the Collaborating Center for School Food and Nutrition (CECANE/UFRN) were used. For the collection of information in the reports on the performance of the CAEs, a checklist was built containing all the attributions that fall to the members of the CAE, defined by the legislation in force in the years 2019 and 2020. As a result, it was found that the year 2020, where the pandemic was growing, the performance of CAEs had interference, making social control difficult, this fact is justified due to the need for isolation. Satisfactory points about the performance of the councils were found in the analyzed CAEs, however, some important aspects still need improvement.
