Resumen
Nowadays the sport in the school can help in the integral development of the student, being part of social, affective, cognitive and motor aspects. The school has a fundamental role in forming critical citizens and aware of what it takes to have a good social life. For this, it is necessary to look for tools that motivate and make the student to search for this knowledge in a pleasurable way. This is where sports come into the school as a tool for the student's integral development and in a motivating way. Considering that one of the school's roles is the integral development of the student through sport, this article aimed to show how sports in school contributes to the integral development of students, taking into consideration the social, affective, cognitive and motor. To achieve this aim, a qualitative descriptive research was conducted, where 30 teachers of the physical education discipline were interviewed, among them 15 teachers of school sports teams. It was observed that the sport has inserted in its essence its formative character, mainly in relation to the citizen's side of the student, where values are developed such as: respect for rules, colleagues and opponents, responsibility, Occurrences of victory and defeat and the awareness that there are differences among all participants, which need to be respected. Parallel to this, the affective aspect is also developed, as well as the cognitive aspect, because in the sportive practice several intellectual actions are necessary to solve problem situations. Through the sport in the school the student also develops the motor aspect, taking into account that from the moment that the student happens to experience gestures the engines, he starts to build and expand his motor repertoire. We can conclude that sport in school contributes significantly to the integral development of the student, taking into consideration the social, affective, cognitive and motor aspects.
