dc.description.abstractThis work has as general objective to develop an electrolytic cell and to evaluate the corrosion resistance in different stainless steel tubes that have been submitted to plasma nitriding process. To perform the tests, a corrosion cell and a structured automation system were designed to collect current values as a function of the applied potential variation using an Arduino microcontroller. Electrochemical techniques were employed and an evaluation of corrosion resistance for different steel sizes was made by the potentiodynamic polarization method. The results obtained by surveying the anodic polarization and linear polarization curves showed that all results presented with similar performance with small variations in the parameters of potential and corrosion resistance.
