The context imposed by the COVID-19 pandemic demanded adaptations in work and education settings. Companies adopted the remote work during 2020 as an emergency solution. When focusing on the schools, students and professionals had the remote education as a similar strategy for their activities. Given the scenario, the aim of this study is to characterize the remote work experienced by teachers through the pandemic, exposing the derived advantages and challenges. The methodology applied in this investigation includes a bibliographic study, in addition to a descriptive and quantitative research. A case study is presented based on a non-probability convenience sampling, where a group of 21 junior high school teachers (from a private school in Natal, Brazil) collaborated by answering a digital survey form. The data analysis (considering frequency distribution) revealed that the major part of questioned individuals did not feel themselves enough skilled to execute the remote education at the beginning of the pandemic period. However, they were interested on keeping this methodology for the post-crisis. Avoiding commuting to work had the preference among the advantages, while increasing the workload was pointed as the biggest adverse aspect. An improvement for the study would be the evaluation of correlation of variables.
