Comportamento informacional dos moradores de uma comunidade rural: análise do Povoado do Comum - Extremoz/RN

Abstract

Informational Behavior has been the focus of studies within Information Science for decades, seeking to characterize the way individuals generally deal with information and all the processes in which it is involved. Access, search and use of information are actions common to all existing social groups, each with its own characteristics, particularities, instruments, means and ways of dealing with information. Rural communities are an example of groups that have their own ways of dealing with information referring to access, use and search. The present study aims to analyze the Informational Behavior of individuals in a rural community in the municipality of Extremoz/RN. It seeks to answer the guiding question of the study: How are the processes of access, search and use of information in a rural community? In addition to discussing the concept of social information and citizenship. To carry out the research, the method of semi-structured interviews was used to understand each informational process carried out by the interviewees, subjects living in Povoado do Comum. The Informational Behavior of rural communities deserves to be the object of investigation of other researches, in view of the low number of published works that deal with this topic. It is concluded that many factors intervene in informationrelated processes, whether they are: structural; intellectuals; physical, for example.
