Resumen
In this research, we analyzed theoretical and practical aspects of Teaching Ethics and
Bioethics (EEB) in the context of Multiprofessional Residency Programs in Health
(PRMS) at the Federal University of Rio Grande do Norte. To evaluate the theoretical
proposal, we analyzed, by documentary analysis, the programs mentioned above'
pedagogical projects, compared with the Core Curriculum of Unesco. To assess the
practical aspects, we conducted 11 semi-structured interviews (saturation criterion)
with home tutors. We evaluated them by content analysis (framework approach). We
observed that the workload and thematic modules are below those proposed in the
reference curriculum. The participants' knowledge oscillates between a principled
theoretical perspective and professional ethics. The preceptors are unaware that BSE
is part of the PRMS curriculum. We point out that the qualification of communication
between university and services, in addition to the recognition of the preceptors'
contributions in the training of residents, are essential measures to improve BSE in the
PRMS curricula.
