Resumen
This work proposes to study microalgae for applications in the treatment of effluents contaminated with lead and to evaluate their development in different nutrient solutions. For that, a consortium of algae collected in the artificial lake of Parque das Dunas was used to retain lead from contaminated water. After collecting and preserving the algae in glass and polyethylene bottles and freezer conditioning, two systems were set up for algae cultivation: nutrient solution in shaker (100 rpm) and air diffusion system in erlenmeyrs. To monitor growth, turbidity and absorption (570 nm) were monitored throughout the experiment. At the end of the work it was noticed that the species growth occurred and the system with the best utilization was the one in which aeration was used. After the microalgae were inoculated in a contaminated medium by lead (2 mg / L) and continued to grow, indicating the possibility of adaptation to the metal, which in the molds of the experiment did not prove lethal to microalgae.
