dc.description.abstractThe signallized intersections represent a remarkable element to conduct an efficient operation in an urban traffic. Through recommended methods by Highway Capacity Manual (TRB, 2000), this work presents a diagnosis of an important intersection in Natal-RN and suggests alternatives to be implanted to determine if there was reduction of average delay (and consequent improvement in Level of Service) using HCM methodology and microsimulation software VISSIM 8®.
