Imigrantes em Parnamirim/RN: uma análise a partir do retorno migratório

Abstract

This study aims to investigate the effects of migration flows (returnees and not returned) to the city of Parnamirim- RN. This is because migration happen by several factors and numerous directions, including: economic, because the individual leaves his hometown in search of a new job opportunity and more attractive salaries: social networks, which is the network of relationships ( friends, family, co-workers) built both in the city who migrated as in its city of origin; retirement, this is taken as one of the main drivers of population flows that occur in various areas relating to individuals at older ages; and psychological factors that attract the individual for a particular region by personal desires and satisfactions, professionals, and others. Furthermore, migration flows that occurred in the 1930 period for the Southeast and South region due to industrialization and growth of job opportunities in the present day are becoming return or contrary flows that come predominating and attracting returning migrants to northeastern cities. The State of Rio Grande do Norte is being highly sought by immigrants and the city of Parnamirim to be located eight kilometers from the capital and it is a region in economic development being a destination with the most contrary according to the data flows IBGE. Therefore, this study addresses the migration of indirect effects of immigrants who returned to the city of Parnamirim / RN based on 2010 census data, as well as cross variables so we can identify the profile of immigrants of this city.
