Resumen
This paper aims to analyze the activities developed in three children’s choirs in Public Schools of the
City of Natal that are parto f the Tralala Project, which aims the creation of children’s choirs in this
school community. The aim of this work is to point out, trough the application of questionnaires with
coordinators/conductors that are ahead of the investigated choirs, the different music education
practices that occur through choir singing despite following the guidelines of the project, and have the
same goals, differ in some points. The present work point out some possible failures and make
proposals of improvements and also highlights important aspects for the success of this activity. We
noticed different ways of musical teaching in these schools, considering the human material, children
and music teachers. It was still possible to see the plight of some schools and as a consequence, the
chances of education are disproportionate. Furthermore, we note the great importance of the project
for the development of the children’s self-consciousness in aspects such as their own body, voice,
ability to collaborate with others, including the development of a small ability to create beauty. From
another perspective the project can also be seen as stimulator for the creation of new choirs and
audiences.
