Manual de Operação do Laboratório de Engenharia de Reservatórios de Petróleo da UFRN

Abstract

With the actual difficult to perform petrophysical studies in underground rocks, those that can be present in more than 3000 meters of depth, it is necessary to perform studies in pieces of rocks (samples) coming from the oil wells drilled. To simulate a reservoir rock, first it is need to be done a cleaning procedure to return the rock original wettability, after that saturated with the reservoir fluids, to finally perform petrophysical studies such as, porosity, permeability, oil, gas and water saturation, resistivity and capillary pressure. This paper presents the equipment and the respective operation manuals, which composes the new laboratory of petroleum reservoir of UFRN. Such equipment, acquired from Vinci Technologies, allow perform cutting and cleaning operations and petrophysical studies in reservoir rocks. This manual will grant a safety and appropriate handling of the equipments.
