The objective of this work is to size and simulate a distillation column of perforated plates that feed a flow of 6 m³/day (0.25 m³/h) of pyrolytic oil resulting from the non-catalytic pyrolysis of High Density Polyethylene for the production of diesel oil. The data regarding the composition and physical-chemical properties of the oil, necessary for the sizing and simulation of the column, were extracted from the specialized literature. Sizing was performed using the FUG (Fenske, Underwood e Guilliand) method and other equations and graphical correlations found in several works, where the calculated results did not violate important design conditions such as flooding and dripping points. The final simulation of the column was performed in the UniSim® R470 software through two different case studies: in the first study no side draws were implemented and, in the second study, two streams were extracted from the side of the column. In the first study, the top and bottom streams presented different temperatures from the diesel cut-off range, however, in the second study, the sum of diesel conversion obtained at the side draws exceeded the value of 50%.
