dc.description.abstract | Objective: To identify the profile of prescription and adherence to medication for patients treated at an outpatient clinic for respiratory diseases. Methods: Cross-sectional study of a longitudinal and prospective study, comprising 190 patients with respiratory manifestations. The collection included sociodemographic and clinical data, information about the management of the inhalation device and data regarding the main diagnosis. Results: It was observed that 81.1% of individuals have a monthly income of 1 minimum wage, more than 40% are post-covid, 52.6% reported GERD, 37.9% of individuals sought emergency services
due to respiratory symptoms. Regarding the medication profile and adherence, the most prescribed association is formoterol/budesonide - powder capsule (64.7%) and the most frequent concomitant prescription is formoterol/budesonide + omeprazole (19.47%). Of the patients who use formoterol/budesonide, 68% forget to use it, 57.7% do not follow the schedule, and still 61.5% stop using the drug when they feel
well. Conclusion: Incorrect use of inhalation devices, presence of manifestations related to GERD and low adherence to treatment were verified. It is essential that the multiprofessional care model used in this research be multiplied, seeking to promote awareness of the patient or guardian about the importance of pharmacotherapy, with guidelines on the correct handling of inhalation devices and regular monitoring. | |
