Resumen
The multigrade classes are very common in rural schools as a way to organize classes in order to meet the access guaranteed by law to all students. However, these classes are often subject of discussion among teachers and other education professionals to generate problems in the teaching-learning process due to the
diversity of levels. The aim of this study is to analyze proposals from MEC worked in multigrade classrooms involving child education context. They found five studies conducted in different regions of Brazil, in which the results related to the methodology of Active School program analyzed in the rural schools context. The
results of these studies report positive and negative perspectives, as well as controversy about the proposal. The main controversy is applied from the understanding that the active school is methodology applicable to schools, but needs didactic and pedagogical resources to function properly, as the rural schools, due to
the history of lack of investment They do not have these features.
