Resumen
The Hospital Universitário do Seridó comes from a demand resulting from the creation of the UFRN’s Medical School in the city of Caicó, located at Rio Grande do Norte’s Center-South region. The Medical School initiated its classes in July 2014 and it has a multicampus configuration, with educational activities happening in Santa Cruz, Currais Novos and Caicó. The need for equipment aimed to perform practical activities of the health field students stands out with the Medical School functioning for almost two years. Furthermore, the current structure of public health in the region is not enough to assist the local population. A matter that must be emphasized is the hot semi-arid climate, which required special attention for questions regarding comfort in the building. Therefore, with the need for equipment that supports the university, added to the current demand for a small hospital to serve local residents and surrounding towns, it is proposed the development of this project.
