Resumen
The main objective of this work is to compare the learning styles of students of the Course of Accounting Sciences of UFRN with entries in the course in 2008.2 and 2017.1, in order to identify possible changes in styles and to analyze academic performance. The research instrument developed in 1991 by Felder & Soloman was used, with four questions related to the use of teaching technologies. The research is characterized as a descriptive-quantitative study, conducted through questionnaires. The analysis was performed with a sample of 42 students from the 5th period. The results show that the Sensory and Sequential Styles continue to represent the majority of the students, however, a Visual Style growth was observed, increasing from 58,80% to 66,90% in relation to the Verbal Style, regarding the less frequent styles in 2010 , the Intuitive Style went from 5.90% to 27.10% and the Global Style from 26.50% to 41.30%, while the Active and Reflective Style remained homogeneous. Regarding academic performance, the study showed that the students had a final average above 6.9 in 82% of the courses studied, while in the previous study 60% were present. Regarding the use of technologies in the learning process, the research reveals that students mostly use internet research and video lessons as study methods, prefer classes using active methodologies and use of technologies, presents an ease in handling the "Fortes ©" software and also prefer to conduct study groups in person. Thus, it is evident the relevance of the subject for the improvement of the educational process, the use of teaching methodologies that favors the inclusion of all learning styles becomes more and more necessary, even more with the advancement of the technological world which constantly evolves.
