Abstract

The conception of this work began with the need to know a little about the distribution of industries in the Rio Grande do Norte. In this way, it was evaluated by means of a research in the Federation of industries in the state of Rio Grande do Norte (FIERN) and direct contact with the industries (by e-mail), the number of employees, the type and size of the industries involved in chemical engineering, seeking to know where they are located and if there are internship programs or if chemical engineering are employed. This work also brings the law of internship and complementary laws. It was observed that of the 274 industrial registrations obtained of FIERN’s industrial record website for the Zona Leste Potiguar, of the 179 process industries contacted, only 8 responded to the survey and only one have an internship program for chemical engineering. Thus, it is concluded that a great effort is needed to extend the insertion of the chemical engineering internship in the industries of Rio Grande do Norte
