Resumen
Introduction: Chronic Kidney Disease (CKD) is the slow, progressive and irreversible loss of kidney function. Being responsible for limiting the functional capacity, productivity and quality of life of people affected by it. Furthermore, these individuals have a significant respiratory muscle weakness, gradually affecting the quality of sleep through sleep-disordered breathing, thus, strategies in the management of therapies emerge in order to contribute and establish inspiratory muscle training programs for patients on hemodialysis. Objectives: To evaluate the effects of an inspiratory muscle training protocol in individuals with chronic kidney disease undergoing hemodialysis treatment. Methods: It will be a randomized, controlled, parallel clinical trial protocol. Carried out with individuals with Chronic Kidney Disease. Maximum static pressures (pimax/pemax), pulmonary function (spirometry), as well as sleep assessment and chronotype (Pittsburg Scale/MCTQ), Quality of Life (KDQOL), fatigue severity (ESF) and Dyspnea (MRC) will be evaluated ) being, the assessment and protocol of inspiratory muscle training performed at the Santa Rita Nephrology Clinic, Santa Cruz/RN. The inspiratory muscle strengthening protocol will be performed 3 times a week for 5 weeks, totaling 15 sessions. Expected Results: It is expected that the TMI group will obtain better results compared to the Sham group, regarding the appropriate variables and that this results in an improvement in quality of life (QL) and quality of sleep.
