Introduction: although the Política Nacional de Saúde Integral LGBT was created to meet the demands of this population, the literature shows that LGBT people face difficulties in accessing health services. Objective: to analyze the narratives of primary care health workers in a city in the northeastern hinterland about the care of LGBT people. Method: a qualitative and descriptive study carried out with 72 health professionals who work in primary care in a municipality in the northeastern hinterland. A sociodemographic and professional study, a structured non-open interview, were used for data collection. The corpus originated from the interviews was built in LibreOffice and processed in the IRaMuTeQ software. Results: the classes of the Descending Hierarchical Classification were divided into two categories, "Challenges for comprehensive care for LGBT people in Primary Care" and "Potentialities for overcoming prejudice against LGBT people in Primary Care". Final considerations: I need health professionals who are trained in Primary Care to be served for this community, which must happen from their community.
