Resumen
The history of history teaching has been an object of study since the 80s of the twentieth
century. In general, teachers/researchers seek to study the history of their own discipline, and
produce research that attaches significant contributions to a better understanding of the role
played by the school. This master's research aimed to mobilize 6th grade students in the
historical investigation of the history of history teaching at Escola Municipal Professor Cícero
Varela, João Câmara, RN, from the operationalization of the historical method. Understanding
that this type of approach allows the teacher to construct readings about the world and about
the history of the subject in everyday school life. For this, we tried to make the students
constructors of their own knowledge, working on basic principles of historical research,
theoretical and empirical, by understanding that school teaching also produces its own historical
knowledge. The procedures and strategies are directed toward a workshop-class proposal.
Considering the pandemic moment we are facing, it became necessary to make some
adaptations in the proposals and in the mobilization of resources. The product of this work is
the construction of a didactic material (paradidatic book) to work on the history of the subject
in school, based on the experiences of the research, which should serve to approach the same
discussion by other teaching researchers.
