dc.description.abstract | This work treated, through a qualitative approach (MINAYO, 2003), to investigate and understand how happened the rural education development at the national, state and municipal levels, with emphasis on the São Roque community, located in Ouro BrancoRN City. Our central objective was to rescue the lay teacher role as an active actor in this context. In this perspective, for a theoretical basis and study foundation in question, it was made bibliographic researches, documentary analyzes in Brasil (1934, 1971, 1988, 1996, 2002, 2005 and 2010); Queiroz (1984); Santos & Rodrigues (2016); Antunes (2012); among others. From the analysis of the interviews with the teachers who worked in the rural schools of that municipality, these institutions were paralyzed in 2003, it was evident in this course that difficulties and challenges faced by them did not conjecture big changes in the socio-historical context, but it was significantly the fight for education and learning of residents at São Roque community. Nevertheless, considering the work of these teachers and the advances obtained in the Field Education and in the peasant territories, in the educational area, there was not by public power the decision to continue such education in the Ouro Branco municipality. | |
