Estudo comparativo do detalhamento das armaduras em projetos de estruturas sismo-resistentes

Abstract

Due to the fact that Brazil is located in a region far from the edges of the tectonic plate in which is found, there is a false impression that there is no possibility of seismic events happening in the country. Nowadays, it is known that the clash between plates is not the only cause of earthquakes, they may also be caused by geological faults. In 2006, ABNT NBR 15421:2006 was issued, a norm that regulates the consideration of seismic actions in Brazil, however the consideration of actions of this nature is still neglected at structural projects. This work presents important concepts that must be considered when developing an earthquake resistant structural project, studies and compares the recommendations suggested by international norms regarding the detailing of reinforcement bars and develops numerical examples using the recommendations studied, in order to provide a better comprehension of the considerations made on the Brazilian standard. At the end, it is concluded that the consideration of seismic actions in the development of a project (since the structure conception process until the detailing of reinforcement) cannot be neglected because they provoke changes on the internal resisting forces and also on the distribution of reinforcement bars.
