The following paper presents the context of private property and its influence on the issue of the right to housing in Brazil and how the struggle for resistance is being organized and in favor of this right. A bibliographical research was done about Marxist readings on the interference of private property in the economic and social parameters and how it is changing and impacting society. The question of Brazil's housing was also analyzed, and how social movements organize themselves in the face of this problem, concluding that property must meet the collective interests and not only of a small part of society.
