Uma análise das condições de trabalho dos assistentes sociais inseridos no Sistema Único de Assistência Social: desafios e possibilidades

Abstract

The present study deals with the working conditions of social workers who work in the Unified Social Assistance System. Considering the socio-historical transformations that have taken place, it will discuss the changes that have taken place in the world of work since the productive restructuring and that have brought new implications for the professional performance of social workers, also presenting significant elements of the current context of capitalist crisis and health care. The general objective of the monograph is to discuss the social worker's working conditions in the Unified System of Social Assistance, having as specific objectives: to analyze the transformations that have occurred in the world of work in order to identify the impacts on the social worker's work; to contextualize the Social Assistance Policy in Brazil in order to highlight the advances, setbacks and implications on the social worker's work; to identify the limits and possibilities of the social worker's professional performance in order to reflect on strategies for intervention in the performance of the work. The choice for this issue arose from the experience of the obligatory internship in Social Work at the Reference Center for Specialized Social Assistance in the eastern region of Natal/RN. The study is qualitative in nature and to address the issues related to the content discussed, a literature review was carried out by reading the productions of authors who discuss and analyze the categories discussed in this monograph. The results point to an intense process of precariousness of the Brazilian Social Assistance Policy and, consequently, for the work of the social worker, through impacts caused to the social-occupational spaces, where new expressions of the social issue are evidenced, dismantling of social rights, difficulty of access to social policy, increase of inequalities and fragility of labor bonds, being necessary to build strategies to strengthen the professional category to face these repercussions.
