This article aims at exploring the space of the student body as political spaces, those that are spaces of the practical exercise of politics and, in this way, they specifically qualify the space. We understand the school as an experimental space of democratic exercise too important, considering that the school space is not only a place of socialization, but an actor building education and the student body is the representative entity of the student body in this process. The analysis chosen is Pedro II College, because it is one of the oldest educational institutions in Rio de Janeiro. As methodology was done a survey of the statute of the institution, in addition to interviews with students from the campuses Centro, Tijuca and Humaitá, in order to draw a comparison.Este artigo tem como objetivo explorar o espaço dos grêmios estudantis como espaços políticos, aqueles que são espaços do exercício prático da política e, dessa forma, o qualificam de modo específico o espaço. Entendemos a escola como um espaço experimental do exercício democrático demasiado importante, vide que o espaço escolar não é apenas um local de socialização, mas sim um ator na construção da escolarização e o grêmio estudantil é o ente representativo do corpo discente nesse processo. O recorte de análise escolhido é o Colégio Pedro II, pois, é uma das instituições de ensino mais antigas do Rio de Janeiro, onde há grêmios consolidados. Como metodologia foi feito um levantamento do estatuto da instituição, além de entrevistas com alunos dos campi Centro, Tijuca e Humaitá, a fim de traçar um comparativo.
