In this article, we seek to understand how school transport is financed in some cities in the state of Goiás. The objective was to analyze and extract from the related documents the cost per student per year of school transportation in the cities surveyed. This is a documentary, bibliographic and empirical research, based on Brazilian legislation, which deals with the theme and the data made available by various agencies, such as the National Fund for the Development of Education, the Court of Accounts of the cities of the State of Goiás, Goiás State Department of Education and the official e-mail address of the cities researched. The results indicated that the resources invested in school transport are equivalent to a significant part of the Maintenance and Development of Education, reaching 21.8% in the city of Campinorte. Buriti Alegre's cost / student / school transport exceeded the national cost / student / year published by FNDE, for 2016, which was R $ 2,739.87.Neste artigo, busca‑se conhecer como se dá o financiamento do transporte escolar em alguns municípios goianos. O objetivo foi analisar e extrair dos documentos correlatos o valor custo aluno/ano do transporte escolar nos municípios pesquisados. Trata-se de uma pesquisa documental, bibliográfica e empírica, embasada na legislação brasileira, que versa sobre o tema e nos dados disponibilizados por diversos órgãos, tais como o Fundo Nacional de Desenvolvimento da Educação, Tribunal de Contas dos Municípios do Estado de Goiás, Secretaria de Educação do Estado de Goiás e endereço eletrônico oficial dos municípios da pesquisa. Os resultados indicaram que os recursos aplicados no transporte escolar equivalem à parte significativa da Manutenção e Desenvolvimento do Ensino, chegando a 21,8% no município de Campinorte. O custo/aluno/transporte escolar de Buriti Alegre ultrapassou o valor custo/aluno/ano nacional divulgado pelo FNDE, para o ano de 2016, que foi de R$ 2.739,87.
