| dc.description | In the present study we analysed French maps produced between 1546 and 1555 seeking to observe the way that they use to represent cartographic/iconographically the meanders region of Rio de la Prata and the Andean mountain range. The focus of attention focuses on the allusive images on the gold and silver mines and to the supposed occult indigenous kingdoms, however, vaguely reported by Spanish conquerors. The indigenous representations, overseas colonial aspirations and the political instigation character promoted by the French geographical charts are the subjects that constitute our scope of interest. Our epistemological dialogue involves related areas such as Anthropology, History of Art and Cartography. | en-US |
| dc.description | No presente estudo, analisamos mapas franceses produzidos entre 1546 e 1555, buscando observar a maneira como representavam, cartográfica/iconograficamente, os meandros da região do Rio da Prata e da Cordilheira Andina. O foco da atenção incide sobre imagens alusivas às minas de ouro e prata e aos supostos reinos indígenas ocultos, porém, vagamente noticiados por conquistadores espanhóis. Asrepresentações dos indígenas, os anseios coloniais ultramarinos e o caráter de instigação política promovida pelas cartas geográficas francesas são os temas que constituem nosso âmbito de interesse. Nosso diálogo epistemológico envolve áreas afins como a Antropologia, História da Arte e da Cartografia. | pt-BR |
