Ageing affects several biological structures and mechanisms. The present work studied wound healing in 2 months old and 17 months old mice. Experimental wound in the tongue of 70 mice were performed. Histological diferences or similarities in healing ofyoung and aged mice were search. The results have shown that there were no ignificative differences on wound healing between young and aged groups. It was concluded that wound healing processes at the same rate independently of group age.O envelhecimento afeta vários mecanismos e estruturas biológicas. O presente trabalho estudou o reparo da mucosa da língua de camundongos de 2 e 17 meses de vida. As feridas experimentais foram produzidas na língua de 70 camundongos. Foram buscadas diferenças histológicas no processo cicatricial entre os camundongos jovens e velhos. Os resultados mostraram haver diferenças na cicatrização entre os grupos de jovens e velhos. Concluiu-se que a cicatrização se processa de igual modo independente da idade do indivíduo.
