Prosthodontics requires a careful and effective treatment planning in order to achieve a functional and esthetic rehabilitation of the patient. Likewise, an accurate diagnosis and treatment has the purpose of accomplishing equilibrium of the stomatognathic system. Objetive: The aim of this study was to present a case report of a patient with temporomandibular joint disorder (TMJ) associated to bruxism and its rehabilitations with the reestablishment of the vertical dimension. Case report: Patient, Z.S.B., 59 years old, male, attended the integrated clinic of the Dental School of the Regional University of Blumenau (FURB) with complaints of facial muscle pain causing masticatory discomfort and excessive wear on the anterior teeth, impairing aesthetics. The case ́s rehabilitation initiated with the patient ́s previous use of a Front-Plateau, the confection of a Lucia Jig, and the reproduction of the patient ́s centric relation, which was subsequently recorded and mounted in a semi-adjustable articulator. After a diagnostic wax-up with anterior and canine guides was performed, a provisional removable partial denture was fabricated and used by the patient for one month. Final Considerations: Once painful symptoms felt by the patient disappeared, the prosthetic case was concluded with the performance of anterior composites based on the previous wax-up analysis and the confection of a definitive removable partial denture. The maintenance of the patient ́s treatment was achieved through the use of an occlusal splint.A reabilitação oral requer dos profissionais da odontologia um planejamento cuidadoso e assertivo, visando reabilitar o paciente funcional e esteticamente com intuito de buscar o equilíbrio do sistema estomatognático. Objetivo: Relatar um caso de um paciente com disfunção temporomandibular associada ao bruxismo e sua posterior reabilitação através do reestabelecimento da dimensão vertical. Relato de caso: Paciente Z.S.B., 59 anos, gênero masculino, compareceu na clínica integrada do Curso de Odontologia da Universidade Regional de Blumenau (FURB) com queixa de dor muscular facial ocasionando desconforto mastigatório e desgaste excessivo nos dentes anteriores, prejudicando a estética. A reabilitação foi iniciada através da utilização prévia de Front-Plateau, confecção de Jig de Lucia, registro da relação cêntrica e montagem em articulador semiajustável, confecção de prótese parcial removível provisória, após enceramento diagnóstico com reconstrução das guias anterior e canina, a qual foi utilizada por um mês. Considerações finais: Após o desaparecimento da sintomatologia dolorosa finalizou-se o caso com resina composta na região anterior, baseada no enceramento de estudo, confecção de prótese parcial removível definitiva e utilização de placa oclusal, contribuindo para manutenção dos resultados obtidos.
