Nowadays, it´s more and more common to come across patients that have some type of dental deterioration. It happens by several causes, such as bruxism, attrition, erosion, abrasion or abfraction. Before any action, it is necessary to distinguish if this deterioration has a physiologic or a pathologic nature and, if it is necessary any kind of intervention. When necessary to restore any teeth, the greatest challenges are the lack interocclusal space for the restorative material and the reduced height of the clinic crowns. Then, it makes necessary the reestablishment of the DVO. But how much should we increase the DVO? And why increase the DVO? Will these restorations be stable? That is what we want to analyze and discuss. The well succeded aesthetic restoration treatment must have a multi-disciplinary approach, organized and coordinated in order to establish the correct diagnosis and an adequate plan for each case.
