The implant surface is one of the six factors required to occur the osseointegration. The literature describes several ways to obtain a micro-texturization of the implant (titanium-plasma-sprayed, hydroxyapatite by plasma spray , anodizing , sandblasting , acid etching , laser and combination of techniques ) . This study reviews and discusses the different dental implant surfaces. A search was conducted in databases and the thesis of Ann Wennerberg. The literature shows that the implants with a moderately rough and wettability surface have better osseointegration Surfaces treated with sandblasting and acid etching (SLA) and chemically modified (SLActive) have good clinical outcomes successfully early loading, pacients with systemic disease and sites with low bone quality. Howerve is necessary more clinical research and quality control by nacional industry.
