This study aimed to verify the effectiveness of treatment with antivenom, ar turmerone isocurcumenol and through clinical, haematological and haemostatic in experimental rabbits after poisoning by Bothrops jararaca. Forty-eight animals were inoculated with 0.4mg/kg of venom intradermally in the lateral right hind limb, were divided into six groups of eight animals: GI - Vaseline topical BID/15d, GII - ar-turmerone (1% ) topic, BID/15d; GIII - isocurcumenol (0.1%) topical, BID/15d; GIV - ar turmerone (1%) topical, and BID/15d antivenom diluted in Saline MI; GV - isocurcumenol (0, 1%) topical, and BID/15d antivenom diluted in Saline MI; GVI - antivenom diluted in Saline MI. Topical and subcutaneous tissue treatment were performed 30 and 60 min after the venom inoculation respectively. The ar-turmerone isocurcumenol topics and did not prevent the installation of local modifications. The lower rates of skin lesions were observed in animals treated with ar-turmerone while the antivenom and its pair association did not prevent the occurrence of dermal ulcers. Ar-turmerone showed superior action on clotting times and prothrombin. The levels of AST, ALT and CK were higher in GII and GIII. Histopathologic examination showed necrotizing dermatitis and extensive acute granulocytic, and fibrinoid degeneration of the vascular wall. It is concluded that the herbal medicines can be used as complementary topic treatment in botropic poisoning
