Resumen
Gastric disorders are an usual condition in horses of all ages. Its etiology isnt established, despite of the variety of trigger factors associated to them as confinement, stress, age, excessivework, abuse of non-steroidal ant-inflammatory drugs, changes in handling, inappropriatefeeding and Helicobacter spp. infection. This condition produces clinical symptoms as recurrentcolic, constant lying down, bruxism and progressive loss of weight. The diagnosis might bepresumptive according to therapy success for clinical symptoms, or definitive by moresophisticated techniques as endoscopy. Therapy duration depends on the severity of injuries, being, most of the time, long and expensive. The prognosis is benign when the patient in therapyis submitted to the appropriate prevention condition. This work reviews briefly Equine GastricUlcer Syndrome literature.
