| dc.description.abstract | The rapid orthodontic extrusion is a conservative alternative in cases of injury or fractures that are located in subgingival regions near or below the bone crest. This arises as an alternative to crown-lengthening surgery, which although achieving faster results, sacrifice healthy bone tissue of the adjacent teeth. This procedure does not eliminate theneed for periodontal surgery which is complementary and located in the extruded tooth. This study shows that orthodontic extrusion is a quick and easy procedure to perform, within the reach of general dentists, since preceded by the correct indication and understanding of the processes involved in getting tooth preparations and restorations that meet the periodontal biological principles. | |
