This work, a theoretical one, tries to make an approximation between the both Barbosas's Triangular Approach and Vergnaud's Theory of Conceptual Fields. To do so, we focused our analysis on the subject in action, which is the main link between the two theoretical models. From there, we forward our study of student conceptualization process in visual arts. This effort of approximation is materialized in the construction of a teaching sequence in Visual Arts, the product of this monograph, which will be applied to high school students. Through activities that place subjects as actives in its process of signification, it provides a context for the construction of concepts in Visual Arts while also allowing understanding how this process of conceptualization in this area occurs. In the way of bringing Visual Arts teaching closer to other contemporary discussions, the didactic sequence uses the concept of sustainability as the background. We hope that the application of this sequence may indicate some ways of thinking and acting of students in our context.
