Resumen
Was prepared containing a monovalent serovar hardjo Norma sample adsorbed on adjuvants: aluminum hydroxide and two water emulsions in oil and lanolin Emulsigen. Eighty sheep aged 6 months to 1 year old Santa Ines were used, divided into four groups of 20 animals each. Group I was vaccinated with adjuvant Emulsigen, Group II with lanolin and Group III with aluminum hydroxide and saline was applied to Group IV. The vaccination schedule for all groups was a dose of 3 ml per animal at day zero and a booster dose with the same thirty days after the first. The immunogenicity of the vaccine in all animals was assessed at 0, 30, 60, 90 and 120 days by microscopic agglutination test and the Test of Inhibition of Growth. The Growth Inhibition Test proved to be an alternative for evaluation of an anti-hardjo bacterin for sheep to replace the Protection Test in Hamster. All animals vaccinated groups showed appreciable protective titers during the 120 days of the experiment, the adjuvant aluminum hydroxide, lanolin and Emulsigen showed equivalence in the induction of IgM and IgG antibodies when used in vaccine-leptospira hardjo in sheep
