dc.description.abstractMenopause is a common phenomenon of women and starts from the date of last menstrual period. It is a phase marked by changes in the lives of women with emotional repercussions, metabolic, hormonal, among others. This work aims to conduct a literature review on menopause and identify the role of the nurse as facilitator and educator in the care of climacteric women to a better quality of life. The methodology used was a narrative review of available knowledge about menopause, women's health and menopause, from the query in the databases LILACS and BDENF. It was concluded that the nurse as a facilitator can help to demystify women's attitudes and beliefs of society on this stage of life transition, providing a holistic care preparing them to face and overcome the changes in this phase of the life cycle quality life.
