Resumen
The present work presents a new solution methodology for problems that have material non-linearity using the Generalized Finite Element Method (GFEM) allied to the global-local analysis strategy. In this process, the nonlinear analysis occurs in the global problem and at the end of each convergent incremental step a local problem is solved. The local problem, with a ner mesh, is extracted from the global problem in the region where there is a greater concentration of deformations, and on the local domain, boundary conditions, coming from the numerical solution of the global problem, are imposed. For the local solution, it is used the stiness approxi- mate by its secant portion and the current state of the material medium, resulting from the transfer of the constitutive variables between the two models considered. The local solution obtained enriches the global problem using the prerogatives of GFEM. The Newton-Raphson method is adopted as an incremental-iterative pro- cess. Dierent control methods can be used, as well as several constitutive models and appropriate material laws for representing elastically degraded media. The com- putational implementations were performed in the INSANE (INteractive Structural ANALYSIS Environment) system, a free software project developed by the Depart- ment of Structural Engineering of the Federal University of Minas Gerais.
