Estudo das correlações entre as propriedades mecânicas do concreto

Abstract

NBR 6118 (2007) presents a series of equations that correlate the concrete tensile strength and secant modulus of elasticity to the characteristic compressive strength. Extensive research has been done in Brazil to develop equations to predict even better these correlations. In this scenario, the object of this paper is to present a contribution to this study. Thus, a database was created containing test results, conducted throughout the country, of concrete compressive strength, secant modulus of elasticity and splitting tensile strength. With this database a statistical analysis was done to predict consistent equations for the correlation between these mechanical properties of concrete. Comparisons of these results with the models prescribed by the NBR 6118 (2007), EUROCODE 2 (2004) and ACI 318 (2008) are also presented.
