dc.description.abstractBeginning in the mid 2000s, the real estate market in Brazil has gone through an important growth phase. Although prospects became quite favorable for the real estate market, over the last few years building companies have had a negative output. A few causes have been pointed out, but flaws in inefficient, shallow and non integrated projects can be considered crucial for this situation. Currently, there are important concepts and principles by which to manage and optimize the designprocess. One can cite rationalization, constructability, coordination andreconciliation of projects, concurrent engineering and BIM. Aided by digital tools these become important instruments to ensure reliability, quality and project effectiveness, then, increase the companies output.
