Resumen
Diabetes Mellitus is today a worldwide epidemic and is a great challenge for health care systems around the world. This work holds those professionals dealing with health as responsible for leveraging favoring conditions to those who suffers from this ailment to acquire some scientific knowledge to control the disease. One of the strategies that help the integration of a multidisciplinary team involved in health education processes is to work with the dynamic education groups. The purpose of these groups is to spread information about the importance of treatment of DM, - be it through diets, right use of medications or physical activities - to avoid complications that have a negative impact on the health of those suffering from it. Educational activities as part of a health care policy are based on political and institutional rules that guide the management of SUS (Unified Health System). Considering the fundamental role of education in preventing health damage, this study aims to develop an action plan which proposes to work with educational groups composed of those suffering from the disease. This plan is meant to be put to work in the Juiz de Fora Family Health Unity in the urban zone of Dores do Indaia city. We believe that it is feasible once it comes up with guiding steps to enable activities related to health education, which are poorly approached in the above unity.
